KRATON Belpre Federal Credit Union is committed to provide you with financial products and services to meet your financial goals. We are required by federal law to give you this privacy notice. It describes our policies and practices that protect your privacy and enables us to share information to make available competitive financial products and services. Information We Collect About You
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on membership and loan applications and other forms;
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency;
- Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms, such as from your current or past employers or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.
Information That We Disclose About You
We may disclose all the information we collect as described above to the following sources:
- We disclose information to various Credit Bureaus to report loan repayment information and to enable the Credit Union to obtain a credit rating for lending purposes.
- Information is disclosed to Manager and other office staff for managerial purposes.
- Information is disclosed to the Credit Committee for purpose of loan approval.
- CUNA Mutual Group receives information in order to establish premiums to be paid by the Credit Union for the purpose of providing free insurance on each members account and to provide other insurance products.
- Auditors and Examiners:
In order to comply with NCUA laws, the NCUA Examiner has access to each members file during the annual examination. This ensures proper management, documentation and operation of the Credit Union.
The Supervisory Committee conducts a Supervisory Audit to comply with NCUA laws and to ensure proper management, documentation and operation of the Credit Union.
An Outside Auditor may be obtained to extensively audit the Credit Union books.
The Board of Directors reviews Credit Committee loan applications and in special circumstances, as requested by the Credit Committee, discuss applications that do not meet established loan approval criteria.
- Internal Revenue Service information that has to be reported.
We may also disclose information about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of the credit union, follow your instructions as you authorize or protect the security of our financial records.
If you terminate your membership with KRATON Belpre Federal Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as required by law or by written consent.
How We Protect Your Information
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees and volunteers are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
What You Can Do to Help Protect Your Privacy
KRATON Belpre Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. Members can help by following these simple guidelines:
- Protect your account numbers, card numbers.
- Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security number, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you or E-mails you, explains the call or E-mail is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account number, social security number, etc., you should beware. We will NEVER email you to obtain social security information. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
- Keep your information with us current. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use on an account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.
